Product Description
There are countless and imaginative stories that have sprung up around the figure of St. George, up to the episode of the dragon and the girl saved by the saint, which dates back to the period of the Crusades. In it it is said that in the city of Selem, Libya, there was a large pond where a terrible dragon lived. To appease him, the inhabitants offered him two sheep a day and later on a sheep and a young man drawn by lot. One day the king's daughter was extracted and, while the girl was walking towards the pond, George passed by and pierced the dragon with his spear. His gesture becomes a symbol of the faith that triumphs over evil.
