Product Description
In 1949 Southend Pier replaced their ageing railcars with brand new AC Cars built rolling stock. These consisted of four 7 car electric units. Bearing in mind that if a scale model in 009 of the pier railway were to be built it would be very long (1.25 miles scaled down is a very long way in 4mm scale), and very costly. This particular print is for a single ended power car, which could be run aspart of a twocar set or even longer by using the trailer car you will find in my shop. If you only have a short pier then I would suggest you look at thedouble ended railcar you will also find in my shop. The body is a shell only with a cut-out in the bottom that could take a KATO 11-109 or if it is needed to run it over curves, a KATO 11-106 shorty bogie chassis. The wheels are more or less hidden by the side vallance so only those dedicaterivet counters would notice. The size of the cut out is 63mm x 16mm.
