Product Description
A set of 30 posts to make a very inexpensive modern wire-rope safety barrier for your custom magracing or slotracing track.
Looks great and helps prevent cars from ending up in the weeds!
Posts are .125" x .187" x 1.187" tall, like 4" x 6" x 38" steel posts at 1/32 scale.
Each post supports 4 cables and has .15" diameter pin, .375" long, attached to bottom of post for easy installation.
Fishing line or sewing thread works fine as wire-rope. Thread size 346 looks good & is plenty strong.
Makes about 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) of barrier when spaced 3" apart.
Similar to BP3-11 which has 9 tall posts and 2 short posts.
Installation Instructions
Separate posts from sprue using sharp knife, razor saw, or hacksaw blade.
Paint posts if desired.
Where you want the posts located, drill holes in baseboard of track slightlly larger than diameter of pin, if baseboard is hard like MDF. Make holes slightly smaller, if baseboard is soft like XPS rigid foam insulation board. Space holes about 3" apart.
About 3" from the location of the post at each end, start a small screw in the baseboard which will be used to anchor the ends of both cables to the baseboard at each end.
Slide 4 cables through both holes in all of the posts.
Wrap the end of all 4 cables around one of the screws and draw down the screw as needed.
Put a dab of thick glue in the holes and press the posts into the baseboard.
Wrap the other end of the 4 cables around the other screw and draw down the screw as needed.
Before glue sets, straighten up the posts if needed
When glue is cured, enjoy your wire-rope safety barrier that is both attractive and functional.
