Product Description
Parts in "Strong & Flexible Polished" material to complete the model of the Canadian military vessel "HMCS Kingston", a coastal defence vessel, in 1:160 scale:
* main hull including decks and details

To complete the cruise ship, three different sets of 3D prints are needed:
* Hull (this set)
* Superstructure
* Details 1 of 2 (parts in Strong & Flexible Polished)
* Details 2 of 2 (parts in Frosted Detail)

A display stand is currenctly not available (yet).

The Kingston-class vessels were built as part of the Canadian Maritime Coastal Defence Vessel Project. There are twelve ships in this class that was preceded by the Anticost Class (a model of this is available through my shop, too). Apart from the HMCS Kingston (MM 700), designating the first unit built, the others vessels are: HMCS Glace Bay, HMCS Nanaimo, HMCS Edmonton, HMCS Shawinigan, HMCS Whitehorse, HMCS Yellowknife, HMCS Goose Bay, HMCS Moncton, HMCS Saskatoon, HMCS Brandon, and HMCS Summerside. Currently, the HMCS Kingston is stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Kingston class vessels serve multiple roles, both in mine sweeping services, coastal patrol and training. They have a complement of approx. 35 staff on board, and can be equipped for the different purposes using a modular system of different 20 ft. ISO containers that can be stowed on the rear deck. Currently, seven different mission-specific modules are available. The ships use diesel-electric Z-drives with azimuth pods that can be rotated by 360°, giving them exceptional maneuverability. They are armed with one 40mm gun and two 12.7mm machine guns.

The model is designed in 1:160 scale. It is set up to be built as a functional model with radio control. However, it can also be built as a static model for display. The model has two working azimuth thrusters that can be used to control the model just like the original. In addition to the propulsion system and steering, additional functions can be added (e.g. radar, light,...). Please note: The manual and the bill of material avaiable for download is set for the 1:200 scale model. Hence, some slight adaptions need to be made, and the suggested M450 motor will NOT fit the drive pods, but you will need to fit a motor of your own choice. The azimuth pods are set to hold a 5mm diameter motor at this scale.  Contact me if you need an adaptation, and I will gladly help.
