Includes two 3 hole 9 long side rods and two 2 hole 7 long connecting rods, enough for one entire model.
Both black and red are matte (looking closely you will not mistake it for shiny ABS, but usually it will not stand out either). The red is not a perfect match to Lego, but it is close. The gray is close to lego dark bluish gray (dark stone), but unfortunately this material is a lot more expensive than the other colors. Use white if you plan to paint them.
The Shapeways fabrication does not have the tolerance of Lego injection molding, so you might need to drill out the holes (I have never had problems with the holes being too large, but never say never).
Best case- they will fabricate fine
Next best case- the holes are snug- if a technic pin will fit but not turn freely for most holes you can simply rely on the pin turning in the wheel, but for the pin where the side rod and connecting rod both attach you will need to drill the hole out on the inside rod (but NOT the outside rod).
Worst case- no pins will click in, you might have to drill out all of the holes.
If you do have to drill the holes out, note that the holes should be exactly 4.8 mm wide (3/16"). Unfortunately there is some variance in drill bits, so be sure to take a technic brick with you to the hardware store (or take it to your toolbox if you already have the bit) and make sure the bit you are looking at will fit through the technic hole. Otherwise, the bit is too large and you do not want to use it to drill out any of the holes.
