N Scale Alco C-855 Locomotive Shell Deluxe

This is an N scale kit for an Alco C-855 Deluxe locomotive.  These locomotives where built for the Union Pacific Railroad who had the only set of three, one of which was a cables booster.

This model is the 'Deluxe' vertion which means the 3D print orientation has been set to make sure the best quality printed surface is on the top.  All parts have been positioned in the file for the best quality print. This makes the print more expensive as a lot more support material is used. However a regally printed model is available at the normal price here.

The kit will include the main body shell, fuel tank, sandboxes, two cab interiors, each with an engineer, a set of horns, drive shaft extenders and a fuel tank mounting plug. The kit will also require two chassis extender parts or a dummy chassis. (Note: the dummy chassis is not available yet).

This kit is designed to be used with a Con-Cor U50/Turbine powered chassis which is not included.

The Chassis extenders are designed to be printed in Stainless Steel by Shapeways and can be found here.

The detail part such as grab irons, handrails, sun visors, walkways, ladders, windscreen wipers and Air/MU hoses are available as brass Additions and are available for this locomotive here on my website.

This kit is only printable in the FUD & FXD materials and will require cleaning before painting.  I recommend washing with warm soapy water then soaking in 'Goo Gone' or similar product for about 24 hours.  Then rinsing off with warm water and allowing to dry.
