Product Description
The 28cm SK L/40 gun was used on German pre-dreadnoughts of the Braunschweig and Deutschland classes.
Two of the ships, SMS Schlesien and SMS Schleswig-Holstein, were retained as surface combatants and fire support ships throughout WWII. The latter was sunk in harbour in 1944, while the latter hit a mine early in 1945 and was towed by a destroyer back to port, never to be repaired again.
