The
XFV-12A was designed to demonstrate a novel propulsion concept called the
thrust-augmented wing. This would enable a Mach 2 fighter aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing aboard a small aircraft carrier called the Sea Control Ship. The SCS was eventually cancelled and the thrust-augmented wing proved impractical, limiting "production" to a single prototype.
This model is a rescale of our
1/285 XFV-12A with landing gear, some parts have been modified to better fit the new size.
