Originally designed by Harvey Finison and produced by the Northampton Cutlery Company in 1977, this beautiful 5” stainless steel bottle opener was entered into the New York Museum of Modern Art (Object 210.1978) in 1978.
The Northampton Cutlery Company in Northampton, Massachusetts was incorporated by H. R. Hinckley in 1870. The factory was located on the Mill River. Silver-Plated knives and forks as well as fixed blade knives were the main product lines of the company in the early years. In later years they produced knife blades for various other companies. The company closed in 1987.
Great efforts have been taken to replicate every detail of this extremely rare and beautiful piece.
