SmartTag Holder for Bicycle Rack, EI-T5300

Keep track of your bicycle with a Samsung SmartTag, to help recover it when stolen.

This holder is only compatible with the regular SmartTag EI-T5300, and is not compatible with the larger SmartTag Plus.  Another version of the holder for the SmartTag Plus is available on request.

This holder attaches to the opposite side of the tail light mount of the rear luggage rack. The mounting holes are spaced 80mm apart (holes are elongated for 3mm tolerance)  to fit most common tail lights. It is not compatible with 50mm screw spacings.

The holder has a small circular cutout on the front side to make it more flexible and easier to press the button on the SmartTag. Small holes on the bottom of the holder allow sound to exit when ringing if the back side is completely covered.

The holder utilizes the existing screws and nuts of the tail light. The holder flange is 1.4mm thick, and is sandwiched between the rack mounting plate and the nuts, so you will need to check if the screws on your tail light have enough additional length to fit the thickness of the flange. Lock washers and low strength thread locker such as from Loctite is recommended to secure the nuts and prevent them from loosening.

Please check if there is enough space on your rack to fit the holder. It has a dimension of 9.47 x 4.22 x 1.18 cm (3.73 x 1.66 x 0.47 inches). Some racks may have protruding rails or stays that may prevent you from attaching the holder to the opposite side of the tail light.

The printed black materials offered by Shapeways are fairly dark, but to acheive a darker color, it is recommended to paint the surface yourself. If you will be painting it, then the cheapest option would be the White Natural Versatile Plastic.

Black Natural Versatile Plastic and Black PA12 are similar, but using different printing technologies and material properties. The surfaces are slightly different in texture.

Gray PA12 could be useful if you have a gray colored rack, although it is darker than silver and more matt.

The holder in the pictures is self-painted, and the surfaces of the holder delivered by Shapeways do not look like in the pictures. Painting is not offered by Shapeways.

Only the 3D printed holder is included. SmartTag, bicycle, rack, fasteners, paint, threadlocker, or any other accessory pictured are not included.
