Product Description
For centuries the predominant way of pulling the bow way by using the strongest single digit - the thumb. The Mongols, Turks, Chinese, Koreans, Mughals, Byzantines, Romans, Persians, and Arabs primarily used the thumb draw along with the thumb ring - sometimes to pull bows of well over 170 lbs draw. The advantages of this type of draw are apparent. An archer holding the bow with their right hand will typically shoot off their right thumb from the same side they draw the arrow (using a hip quiver) leading to a higher rate of fire. Furthermore releasing from a single finger leads to a cleaner, crisper, and more consistent draw overall. I modeled this design from images of historical Mongol and Mughal rings I found online after the plastic Vermeil classic thumb ring I owned cracked at the string guard/groove. I've found that for heavier weight bows, a string guard can cause slippage and crack under pressure.I made this thumb ring model for my own use, and now I've scaled it to different sizes so that other's can appreciate this method of archery.

The dimensions are as follows:
Extra small   -     15x17 mm
Small            -     17x19.5 mm
Medium        -     18.5x21.5 mm
Large            -     21x24 mm
Extra Large   -     22x25
Note: If your thumb dimensions do not fit these measurements exactly, you can go a size lower and file the ring hole down to fit your thumb precisely. Conversely, if the ring turns out a bit loose, even in olden times, it was not uncommon to chain a ring of leather to make these sorts of rings fit tighter.  I've personally tested the small size myself.
