Product Description
A kit to convert the Bachmann 2-6-6-2 tender locomotive into a Split-Saddle Tank.

Background Info:
Based on the design proposed for the Biles Coleman Lumber Company (as per Bachmann's Large Scale 2-6-6-2).
This loco also takes inspiration from existing standard gauge locos such as those from the Clover Valley Lumber Co. &  Weyerhaeuser Timber Company (Now at the Black Hills Central Railroad).

This loco requires: a Bachmann On30 2-6-6-2, brass wire, handrail knobs, glasing material and paint to finish.
Two Cross-Compound Air Pumps are recommended to complete the look.  These can be found here.

Instruction guidelines:
Where screws are used, it is best to drive the screw into the 3d printed pilot hole and undo before attaching anything to the part with the screws.
The On30 locomotive is converted by removing the cab, drawbar and fallplate assembly. The new cab is fitted with the same 4 screws for the cab.  Wire and pipes that fit into holes in the old cab may need to be trimmed back. The circuit board from the tender can be remounted inside the back of the new cab using the bosses provided. The wire sockets on the loco can be lifted inside the cab by removing the cab seats. There is room for the existing plugs, sockets and wire inside the new cab, but you may wish to shorten and/or solder the wires together for a neater approach.
The light from the tender can be placed on the roof of the new cab. Make a note of which way round the wires are connected before moving across.
The split-saddle tank can be placed directly on top of the boiler without modification. Ideally the bell will need to be remounted as it would not be able to swing in it's original position.
The front pilot deck is placed on the front of the loco and can be attached with a minimal amount of glue.

For modellers wishing to add DCC sound to their loco, I have designed the cab to have room for a Soundtraxx TSU-21PNEM decoder plugged into the ex-tender circuit board (hence the angle) and there is room behind for a speaker inside the locos oil tank.

May also suit the Bachmann On30 2-4-4-2.
