Rigel - Pendant - West Coast Witch

When practicing Wicca, one of the most integral parts of an effective lifestyle is respecting the natural world: the turn of the seasons, the celestial dance, and our local environment.  This line features designs for those wanting to celebrate the flora and fauna of the Pacific West Coast, and perhaps imbibe some of their medicines.

Rigel is named for the seventh brightest star in the night sky, and the brightest in the Orion constellation.  This is our more traditionally shaped pentacle, a five-pointed talisman of protection.  It’s a staid, comfortable design, much like the consistent Rigel in comparison to its more variable brother, Betelgeuse, also in Orion.  In Australian mythology, it was held to be the mother-in-law of Altair, in the Aquila constellation.
