VPGC02-01 Panda Cyclone Dual Antenna Mount

The Panda Cyclone or Mugen Manx body is a favorite of ours. The problem is that the design of the shell makes it so that you need to cut a rather large slot on the side of the window to get the antenna out of the car. Ampro introduces a part that will help out with the antenna placement. 

 

Basically, it is a bracket that you screw in to where the grasshopper body would have gone and then you simply re route the wires. This is designed for a Cyclone or a Hornet with aluminum nerf bars as you can then snake the antenna through the lower part of the slot. If you have standard nerf bars, either a tiny hole is needed or just run the antenna over the chassis. They come in a pair as there is a left and a right since they are canted backwards to compensate for the natural rake of the chassis.  

 

The recess in the bottom of the mount is designed to be a press fit. The diameter of the grasshopper body mount on a factory Panda, Rockbuster, Roadrunner and Hornet (original and rere) all varied slightly. You may need to trim out a chamfer to get to fit but this way I don't need to make 5 different versions (because we all know what a hot commodity Panda Cyclone antenna mounts are). You will also need to clean out the holes. The 3D printing process leaves sand in the barrel so use a tooth pick to clean it. A metal rod works but no drill! The barrel of the antenna mount tapers in to bite the antenna. 

 

Remember that installing this on a Hornet will require alteration of the body. This will not work with a Grasshopper, Rockbuster, Galaxy Buggy, Roadrunner or any body using the stock rear Grasshopper body mounts.
