Product Description
Phystyulons

144th scale (10 or 12mm)

The light, twin-rocket-podded vehicle is as archetypically Phystyulon as the lazer pylon. Throughout the centuries, the concept has proliferated. The Vistrixon Strike Corvette is currently the biggest in active service, but larger vessels have had the role in the past, and machines down to nanobots have carried the paradigm.

The instigator, the rocket cycle, has a history that spans back to before even the First Phystyulon War. During the guerrilla actions that led to the formation of the Phystyulons as a state, one bright elenthnar got the idea of mounting a pair of primitive rockets to a motorbike as a strike weapon for convoy raiding, and history was born.

By the time of the First Phystyulon War, the famous HU-1 Rocket Cycle was in full production. The HU-1 was the first model designed from the (forest) canopy down (as the elenthnars would phrase it) for the purpose.

In the ensuing centuries, a huge variety of cycles have served in the Phystyulon Army. Such worthies include the ZYR-15, with its unusual sidecar construction that was such a terror in the Third Phystyulon War and the HU-500, the first gravitic model of the early FTL age.

The HU-946 is the most ubiquitous model of the contemporary Phystyulon Army, but by no means the only one. The HU-946 is a mid-range vehicle, not the fastest nor the heaviest rocket cycle, but a good jack-of-all trades. For a small vehicle, it is well armoured; the forward shield is rated to an impressive Tier 12 verses energy attacks and Tier 11 verses kinetic attacks. The sides are, perforce much less sturdy, only rating at Tier 5, and that assumes a hit on the cycle itself and not the rider. It is likewise too small for shields.

The HU-946’s killing power comes from the twin rocket pods. Each can fire four bursts of three semi-guided rockets, with a range of up to two kilometres. The triple-warhead burst is rated to Tier 19 under ideal conditions, enough to present a concern even to an MBT’s frontal armour.

The pods are backed up with a single spinal mounted lazer cannon, rated to Tier 15 with a range of just under a kilometre. This is primarily used against light vehicles or against infantry, but is very much a secondary weapon.

The HU-946 is usually deployed in horde platoons of twelve cycles in four groups of three, commanded by a larger command vehicle (often a Pazzukasst MBT). In such numbers, they can overwhelm an enemy force with a barrage of fire. Casualties are often high, but the quasi-religious zeal of the Phystyulons means there is no shortage of volunteers.
