This is a dress hook based on the find from https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/754323
The use of dress hooks is something I have not extensively researched but they were used to hold down the backs of partlets and to hold up skirts.
This is version 1 of the hook, I had it printed in polished brass and it turned out lovely. It should hold up fine holding down the back of a partlet and holding up lightweight to medium skirts.
