Product Description
Complete set deigned to attached direct to the Revell 1/144 747-400 CF6 80C2 exhaust sections.  This kit comprises of the main compressor fan, spinner, forward engine compressor section and a central optional plug to mount the spinner and fan.  The forward engine compressor section is designed to take a 5mm flanged bearing (MF52-ZZ) with internal diameter of 2mm. The main compressor fan supplied in this kit will spin in the bearing if a flow of air is passed through it.  The fan supplied in the Revell kit is no longer used.

The recommended build up is to paint the fan and spinner prior to assembly.  Fit the bearing plug or bearing (not supplied) into the forward engine compressor section and glue the assembly to the preassembled exhaust section.  The compressor section stator vanes will require sanding to obtain the best fit inside the engine cowels and this should be done now by tapeing the assembly together and sanding the stator vanes.  I recommend taking approximately 1.5mm off each vane max.  Once the engne cowel halves fit together with the engine section and exhaust in position, remove the engine section and compressor and paint them and the insides of the cowel sections.  Install the fan and spinner and apply a paint mask to the fan and spinner that will be easy to remove once the cowel inlet has been painted.  Place into the main cowel halves BUT DO NOT GLUE INTO POSITION AT THIS POINT.

Prep the inner seam of the cowl and prime and paint it (carefully done this will considerably reduce the visibity of the seams which has always been a detraction to the engines on this model.)  Once the cowel inlet is painted, the remaining outer inlet cowel, fan cowels, thrust reversers and pylon can all be painted.  The exhaust section can be positioned and fitted and the fan and spinner mask removed.
