Product Description
This figure is a dual pair with each element of the pair projected on to a separate sphere. The outside sphere is a Truncated Icosidodecahedron which is an Archimedean Solid. The inner sphere is a Disdyakis Triacontahedron which is an Catalanan solid. The dual nature of the pair is demonstrated by the facts that the inner figure has a vertex where the outer figure has a face- and vice versa. Each figure has an edge crossing at right angles to a corresponding edge on the other figure. This figure shows the beauty of geometry in a powerful way. There will eventually be thirteen such pairs (an Archimedean / Catalan dual) on this site. All are uniquely beautiful and intriguing.
