Product Description
FZX thermostat lid for Yamaha FZX - 3D model after the Yamaha part number 1UF-12413-00 pattern. Also fits 4AM-12413-00.
This is a special part. The original part is injection molded fiber reinforced plastic. However, heat and pressure get the part to deform and leak after some time (3-10 years in my experience) and needs replacing then. It currently costs a bit more than 50 Euros and only Mr. Yamaha knows, how long they will be available, as FZX specific spare part production was halted a few years ago.
Yamaha made some of these parts in aluminium too - these are reliable and last for ages but good luck finding one - they are extremely rare. ( Yahama Number: 4AM-12413-00)
I tired my best to recreate the shape and dimensions of the original part.
It is only available in metal, since it bears some load, and if an injection molded glass fiber reinforced part is not able, to bear this load, a 3D printed plastic part never will!
I ordered one part in silver-bronzed steel and the part came good within the tolerances needed.
However, I added a few features for improved tolerance compensation.
My test mount showed, you need a 50 x 3.55mm seal (or larger 50 x 4mm for example) for the part to be tight.
