Daphnia Water Flea Pendant

This pendant is inspired by Daphnia, tiny planktonic crustaceans that live in freshwater environments. They and other members of the order Cladocera have been dubbed "water fleas" because of their jumpy, jerky motion through the water. Daphnia have an almost transparent exoskeleton that allows scientists to observe their internal organs and processes. All members of the Cladocera have a single compound eye placed in the center of their head, inside the exoskeleton. In this 3D model, the eye is placed on the surface of the exoskeleton for illustration purposes. Daphnia is used as a model organism for studying toxicology in freshwater ecosystems.

The Daphnia pendant is 18 mm (0.7 1 inches) long below the loop and 19 mm (0.75 inches) wide.
