Product Description
This arm snaps onto Turnagy TG9e servo arm or similar. 0.032"(0.8mm) music wire is then inserted into the holder to actuate the switch. The servo can be mounted with contact adheasive. I recommend that contact cement be used in conjunction with double back tape strips to mount your servo motor. The tape strips are used to hold the servo in place until the contact cement hardens. Double back tape alone will eventually release because of gravity and forces of the servo. Wire need not be glued. Use a controller such as Tam Valley's Octopus III for low cost control of turnouts. Turnouts can be controlled for less then $8 per turnout.
A traditional solution has been to bend the music wire to fit the servo arm directly. Music wire when bent in this fashion will break after repeated use. Other methods that use a swivel point have a great deal of backlash and also result in the wire moving up and down excessively.
