These very unique silver cufflinks are anatomical kidneys! Kidneys are our organs responsible for blood filtration and urine production. The organs themselves are kidney-bean shaped and situated deep in our upper abdomens. While they don't have the most romantic of functions, we need at least one of them nonetheless; The CDC estimates 1 in 10 Americans has some form of chronic kidney disease, and about 17,000 transplants happen in the U.S. each year. These cufflink organs are shown in a cut sagittal view and feature the renal pyramids with subtle striations, renal artery and vein, as well as the ureter. Note: these cufflinks do not have gears on them, and work very simply by slipping and angling the rod and bar through the cufflink hole. Size: ~2.3 cm high/long, cufflink depth (with backing) of 2.1cm, and width of 1.8 cm
