Product Description
The Illinois Traction System or ITS, later the Illinois Terminal Railroad, built the 1063-1067 series of freight motors in the early 1900s. I have a model of these in my store. In the 1940s, these freight motors were de-motored and put into freight service as use as freight trailers, mainly hauling bread out of St. Louis to Springfield, Decatur, etc. Some refer to them as bread trailers. These were used up into the 1960s from what I've been told. This is the freight motor model but the headlights and trolley pole retriever have been removed. Also, a door has been added at one end. It is up to the modeler to cover over windows as some prototype photos show windows boarded up and others show them still open. This is an HO scale model meant to represent these unpowered freight motors. I have a "floor" for these for sale as well in my store.
