Product Description
I present my pen insert, for use in the Mininch Tool Pen Mini. It replaces two of the tool's hex driver bits, to turn it into a functional pen. The printed pen insert uses the Cross Matrix refills (not included). The Cross Matrix refill is around 36mm long and 2.3mm in diameter.
The Cross Matrix refill is just a shorter version of the standard Mini/Multi D1 refill, which comes in many more varieties. D1 refills could be cut down to 36mm long, to take the place of the Cross Matrix refill.
The insert needs to be printed in the polished white or coloured plastics, as the smooth polished finish is functionally desirable. The Cross Matrix refill is held in place, by the insert, using friction. The holes around the side of the insert are present to help with the removal of unbonded plastic powder from the core, when being polished. However, some powder may still need to be removed, with a pin or thin metal rod, before inserting the refill.
Due to the varying nature of 3D printing, I cannot guarantee that this adapter will definitely work, although I've made every effort for it to do so and all prototypes have been fine.
