Product Description
These earrings are inspired by Froebel stars (Fröbelsterne), the intricate paper stars that are folded as Christmas decorations in Germany. The stars are named as a tribute to Friedrich Fröbel, a 19th century German educator who is the father of the kindergarten concept. He taught pre-school children to fold origami stars to improve their manual dexterity prior to entering school where they would be required to master the use of a fountain pen. The stars have a long tradition in Thuringia and to this day people still fold "Fröbelsterne" before Christmas and hang them on their trees.
Earrings do not ship from Shapeways with earring hooks. You will need to purchase and attach them yourself. The earrings are 1.3 cm (0.5 inches) long below the loop. The earrings are light and comfortable to wear.
