Product Description
Inspired by Melancholy, a painting by Lucas Cranach the Elder (1532), this choker is printed in strong and flexible (black or white) nylon. Hippocrates developed the medical theory of the four humours, which categorized vital fluids in the body and determined temperment and health if the humours were unbalanced. Black bile (produced by the liver) was associated with the earth and people with an abundance of this fluid were said to be analytical and wise, even though they were melancholic.
