Product Description
Using a Mazda-designed, front-wheel drive platform to replace the Mustang may have been a bridge too far, but selling the Probe as a standalone sporty commuter coupe gave Ford access to a different market that appreciated the Probe's up-to-date concept and Mazda build quality. Represented here as a GT model, as it appeared in the US market from 1990-92, the Probe ultimately became a footnote to the Mustang, but may ironically have been the reason the burly, RWD pony car still rides today.
NOTE: This is intended to be a Moving Parts model, with switch-operated flip-up headlights. At this stage, the switch mechanism on our prototype does not work; the headlights can be raised and lowered manually. Due to long delays in receiving our prototypes, we want to get this collection into the marketplace, so we are offering this model in its current configuration at the non-Moving Parts price. We hope to continue developing the prototype design, and will update the model in the future.
This 1:64-scale ready-to-paint and assemble kit comes with body, base, interior, steering wheel, headlights, headlight switch, wheels, and tires. Body, base, and tires snap together—no additional materials required. Glue recommended for smaller pieces.
