Product Description
This is an HO Scale model of the Mars signal light used on C&NW locomotives from the 1930s to the 1960s with both steam and diesel locomotives using them. Refer to photos of specific locomotives to determine which locomotives were equipped and for placement.
The model is designed to be lit up with a 0201 or 0402 LED with a hole provided out the back of the light housing. Using magnet wire to the LED inside the casting will simulate the conduit leading from the back of the light into the locomotive hood. The lens can be made with either a piece of clear plastic film or with a liquid glass maker such as canopy glue or Microscale Kristal Klear. The lens should be tinted red to follow C&NW practice.
This listing contains 12 Mars lights attached to a sprue which will need to be cut off prior to mounting the lamp on the model.
