butterfly eye-5cm, non spiral

5 cm across, this ovoid model of a butterfly eye is based on dividing the ovoid surface into approximately equal area triangles (Delaunay triangulation), and using the vertices as centers for the eye facets. It has 1660 eye facets, or ommatidia, about 75% of the number in a real butterfly's eye. There are some irregularites in the facet spacing due to the math, which is less accurate than a butterfly's growth pattern.
