Product Description
United Earth and her allies would not learn the true name the Empire assigned these ships until more than a century after the War. Even today, they are best known by the reporting name the Fleet assigned them - "Cabbage".

Hundreds of these large, imposing vessels formed the core of the Imperial Fleet at the start of the War. Their numbers alone gave the Empire a massive advantage in the early stages of the war, sweeping away Earth's outer defenses. Their armaments are impressive, with deep magazines feeding six missile launchers and a single massive plasma cannon capable of wiping out even a large and well-armored space fortress in a single blast.

Their primary failure was the poor efficiency of their engines, with their deuterium tankage sufficing only for three or four light-years travel before requiring refuelling. The Empire was quite aware of this, and found an interesting solution. The "Cabbage"'s large hull lent itself easily to conversion to a cargo-hauler, bringing fuel and supplies to ships on their way to an assault. The same volume made them an excellent troop-carrier as well, providing the Empire with ground power to cement their acquisitions.

While none of these ships were ever captured intact, large elements of debris were collected and are on display at the Fleet Museum. A holographic walk-through is also available but patrons are reminded it is only an estimated reconstruction. The cargo-hauler conversion can be found in a separate entry.
