Cherokee XJ Phone Mount Back Plate - w Aux In Hole

This panel replaces the clock panel in the dash in pre-1996 Cherokee XJ's with a panel that can be used to mount arms designed to mount a phone or GPS.

This part is designed to work with other parts in the series (the arms, adapter(s) for phone mount). You can use any combination of arms and you are encouraged to design or make your own adapters to fit your phone or GPS. The adapter I have included fits my phone mount system.

You can install circular USB ports or other panels instead if you prefer.

There is a "C" shaped hole in the back of the panel. this is designed to hide excessively long wires. The hole/ slot is wide enough for most USB cables as well as auxilary audio cables. This can take up several feet of cable slack.

Captured nut system allows you to easily adjust the height and orientation (nuts and fasteners are not included). 

Notches allow for fine, yet secure adjustment.

Installation:
The panel is a screw in replacement for the clock panel. Remove the clock panel as per the FSM. Screw the new panel back in the same way the clock is installed.

Depending on your dash you may need to use a utility knife to shave off material from the back structural supports to give clearance - this will not impact the strength of the part. I have designed the part to be as stiff as possible given it's use, so it is designed to have materal removed if required to make it fit.

The arms and panels are assembled using M5 pan head machine screws. The parts are designed to retain M5 nuts on the other side.
