Product Description
This pendant was inspired by the Camargue cross, a Christian symbol seen throughout the Camargue region of southern France. It represents the three cardinal virtues: the cross for faith, the anchor for hope and the heart for charity. The three-pronged forks at the ends of the cross represent tridents, as the Camargue lies along the Mediterranean sea, as well as the work of the cowboys of this region, famous for its bulls and horses. This cross was created by the artist Hermann Paul at the behest of the Marquis Folco de Baroncelli in 1924 and is the emblem of the church of Saintes Maries des la mer.
This pendant is 2 cm (0.8 inch) wide by 3.5 cm (1.4 inch) long.
