Product Description
The P.180 Avanti is an Italian executive transport aircraft with twin turboprop engines. It seats up to nine people in a pressurized cabin, and may be flown by one or two pilots. The design is of three-surface configuration, having both a small forward wing and a conventional tailplane as well as its main wing, with the main wing spars passing behind the passenger cabin area. The aircraft is built in the pusher configuration, where the engines are built behind the fuselage to increase comfort as well as efficency and safety.
Back in late 2013 when I first began 3D modeling aircraft I looked into building the Avanti as one of my first designs, but I wasn't satisfied with the results. The aircraft is build with a smooth laminar design in mind. Nearly every aspect of the airframe has a smooth appearance in mind, which was something I wasn't capable of doing, especially with more complex geometries such as the fueslage or engine nacelles. Finally though with enough time and experience under the belt I've made a successful redesign of the model in 1:96 scale to be published here. Enjoy!
