Product Description
Scaled from an elevation drawing of an 1838 Locks & Canals tender used on the Baltimore & Susquehanna RR, similar tenders were used by many manufacturers of locomotives in the era, and the model would be appropriate for powering various prototypes of the era.

The tender body is designed to fit on top of a 17mm wheelbase ARU powertruck (ARU Model C4025) available online from various retailers (hint it is usually cheaper to order from Japanese supplier than it is to buy off ebay). This power truck provides the short wheelbase and high reduction gearing appropriate for this model.  The center bolster must be imobilized (a drop of super glue does the trick) to keep the mounting plate perpendicular to the rail line. Once this is done the mounting plate can simply be glued to the inside of the tender. There is space inside the tender for additional weight, or a "keep-alive" capacitor.
