I-Beam Truss Rod Underframe - 36' Accurail Boxcar

This is a one-piece underframe designed for HO scale 36' Accurail boxcars 1300, 1400, 1700, and 1800 series product ranges. It includes a center sill, I-beam needle beams, and queens posts, and is designed to "plug in" to the floor provided with those models. Truss rods themselves must be supplied by the modeler using fishing line or wire. This part includes slots to mount the K brake assembly provided with the Accurail kit (optional).

This underframe is designed for six truss rods and modeled after underframes used on Nickel Plate boxcars.

The underframe may  be printed in Smooth Fine Detail Plastic, which provides a smooth finish including rivet head detail, or in White Versatile Plastic, which has a noticeably rougher finish but is less expensive.
