Taking place of the MG34 as the standard LMG of the Wehrmacht, The MG42 was introduced in 1942. Nickmaned "Hitler Buzz Saw", this machine gun was feared by every allied soldier, with a rate of fire of 1200 round per minute. But this high fire rate heat the barrel quickly, that's why allied have been trained to attack when MG42 operator change the barrel : 7 second, that the time they got to rush for another cover or destroy the MG
the MG42's roller system was a great technology for WWII era, and it was quiet reliable. Taht's why the MG42 is still is service in the Bundeswehr today designated as MG3 and it's bolt mechanisim is still the same.
this gun is also meant be used as a "low-cost minigun" by assembling 2 MG3 with 2 ammobag and 1 trigger it's the MG14z, but it's a prototype.
