Product Description
Inspired by the cartoonist Roland Emett and his narrow gauge ‘Far Tottering & Oyster Creek Railway’, this freelance 009 scale engine is one of several novelty models designed in his style as a homage to the delightfully peculiar machines in the original drawings.
‘Ethel’ is an 0-2-0 tender engine used for express services. Once assembled with tender (included), this scratch aid enables a fully working powered model engine. The minimum necessary loading gauge required is 44mm from rail height.
IMPORTANT: while most models available here have been pre-tested and known to work, this scratch-aid has not been printed/tested by myself, so while the measurements appear correct it is considered strictly experimental.
(Note: various materials are provided, however, WNV and BNV will require more preparation for smooth painting that FUD and FED.)
The following additional parts need to be sourced separately to complete:
Tsugawayokou N Scale 14008 Super Mini Size Motorized Chassis TU-7T
Couplings (ELC couplings can be modified, but the method used is at the builder's discretion)
Graham Farish Jinty driving wheels (available as spares); 10.5mm diameter including flange, 1.5mm axle
Weight (the boiler is hollow)
Wire (for coupling rods and slide bars – fitting holes ready-formed)
Styrene strip (for wheel keeper plates)
Pins
Only requiring one wheelset, remaining wheels can be used with a variety of other Newman Miniatures products, including ‘Gladys’ in this same range.
I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
