Flywheel insert to convert the Athearn blue-box switcher motor to the newer hex driveline.
The Athearn switcher motor is smaller than the standard motor, and an upgraded replacement part is not currently available. The original flywheel insert doesn't fit squarely on the motor shaft resulting in wobble that causes extra noise. The hex driveline also removes a lot of slop that causes additional noise.
To use, pop the original flywheel mount out of the flywheel and press-fit the new part. Use a hobby knife to scrape any flash from the inner hex area until the dogbone shaft fits tightly but freely.
Use with Switcher dogbone shaft ATH90110 and female coupling ATH48061 or worm gear assembly ATH34128.
