Product Description
This tender complements the N Gauge model of Archibald Sturrock’s GNR ‘Single’ No. 215 – the first British express engine with a pivoting bogie. Although the prototype required modifications to improve the bogie, it proved the viability of a London-Edinburgh service inside eight hours.
Combined with the Sturrock Single locomotive and Sturrock Single Bogie pack (both separately available) these produce a free-rolling model which in conjunction with our motorised and generic 4 and 6-wheel coaches available can make a complete and fully operational vintage train.
IMPORTANT FOR CONSTRUCTION: The tender comes with a warning bell to be fitted on the left front side and a rear-facing guard’s seat. A matching guard figure is included in the bogie pack.
Necessary to Complete:
X3 Spoked wagon wheels
Couplings (ELC couplings can be used, but the method used is at the builder's discretion)
(NB small strips of styrene will hold the wheels in place)
Weight
Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Crew and coal
