Hi-Lo Orchard Heater/Smudge Pot, 16, HO Scale

1/87th HO Scale Orchard Heaters or Smudge Pots.  These were commonly used from 1913 to the 1970s.  The prototype was used to prevent frost damage in orchards and vinyards.  This model used oil for fuel.  This model includes a rebreather tube that improved combustion.   The earliest instance of the recirculator that I have found so far is in a 1942 patent.
