Product Description
Custom TIE design for HOTAC or custom X-wing play!

The TIE/X-9 Persecutor was the sole product of a joint project collaboration between Sienar Fleet Systems and Huppla Pasa Tisc Shipwrights Collective, the manufacturers of several highly succesful, but highly specialized starship designs in service to the planet of Geonosis during the clone wars. The stated goal of this collaboration was to bring the performance and durability of the Geonosians renowned, but uniquely specialized starships into a broader acceptance within the imperial navy, with the Persecutor serving as a proof of concept to what could be accomplished in that stated goal. The Persecutor was outfitted with no less than 4 of the standard twin ion engine powerplants mounted on the geonosians unique vectored thrust orb system that allowed the vessel to accelerate to its top speed and change direction near instantaneously. The vessel was also outfitted with no less that 16 light, repeating laser cannons and 4 heavy ion cannons arranged in banks of 5 on each of its 4 wingtips, giving the Persecutor unparalleled direct firepower. Owing to the combination of the vessels propulsion and weapons systems, the Persecutor needed to forgo the standard solar panels found on virtually every other TIE design and instead used a revolutionary powerplant that was provided in the form of 6 micro-fusion generators slaved to a single reactor system. The immense power generated by this system when spooled up to its maximum output required that the reactor itself be exposed to open space during operation, with cooling vanes interspersed throughout the body of the craft and a unique reactor shunt system that could convert excess heat directly into usable energy for the weapons systems in the event of an emergency. The Persecutor was far larger than a standard TIE fighter, or indeed most fighters in the imperial navy, owing to the inherent required space of all its unique systems, and as a result of both the size of the vessel and its complexity, it was manned by no less than 2 pilots at any given time in a front to back arrangement inside the gimbal-mounted pilot station within the oversized cockpit dome. This gimbal system was able to keep the pilots level, even while the Persecutor was in full spin, and also reduced greatly the strain on pilots during atmospheric maneuvers. The only existing example of the Persecutor was Codename: Scintilla, rumored to be operated out of the Imperial Elite Manticore Squadron stationed within the Aturi Cluster and was known to fly with two other prototype TIE series vessels against the sparse rebel forces in the area to test the limits of their unique craft.
