Product Description
This tender complements the 00 Scale model of the LNWR Crampton locomotive ‘Liverpool’ – in her day claimed to be the most powerful engine in the world.  Built in 1848 as Britain’s only 6-2-0, she was exhibited at the famous 1851 ‘Great Exhibition’ but owing to reported track damage was largely in storage at Camden until ‘rebuilt’ into a more standard 0-6-0 in 1859.

This model originated as a jumbo-ised N Gauge engine, suitably altered to 00 tolerances and to fit proprietary parts, enabling as simple construction as possible.  Combined with the 00 Crampton Locomotive and Motion Pack (both separately available) these provide the primary parts for a fully working model.  The tender is designed to provide as much clearance as possible for the builder to fit their own motor chassis (or free-rolling if intended as unpowered or static-only).  An additional slot-in chassis is also provided to accept a RTR motor chassis as an easier solution (details below), but this will only have limited haulage capacity and the wheel centres will not perfectly line up with the axleboxes.

IMPORTANT: while most models available here have been pre-tested and known to work, this scratch-aid has not been printed/tested by myself, so while the measurements appear correct it is considered strictly experimental.

(Note: various materials are provided, however, WSF and BSF will require more preparation for smooth painting that FUD and FED.)

The following additional parts need to be sourced separately to complete (web links given as examples only):

Screw-fit coupling (best to just glue/pin – mounting point included): Hornby Spares - Coupling Unit and Screws - A1X Terrier - Pack of 1
