Product Description
This is a motor mount for E-20 free flight models, that emulates the way a gas engine mounts to a fuselage, allowing for easy thrust adjustments. The "back-plate" fits 8.5mm can motors, and the "firewall fits onto a 4mm carbon rod fuselage. The two part mount is held together with three 2-56 x 1/4" screws (not provided). Thrust adjustments are easy using shims between the firewall and backplate.
Installation:
1. Separate the two parts of the motor mount.
2. Thread the 3 small holes in the firewall (the part with the large side exit hole for the wires) with a 2-56 tap. Clear the 3 holes in the backplate with a 0.086" drill bit (#43) if needed.
3. CyA the firewall to the fuselage tube.
4. Press fit the motor into the backplate with the back of the motor & wires slightly inset. Glue may be used to secure the motor but is not required.
5. Secure the backplate to the firewall with three 2-56 x 1/4" screws. Nylon screws can be used to save weight.
6. Place thin shims between the backplate of the motor and the firewall to adjust the thrust line.
