GWR 7' Collett Bogie LIMA Fit.
00 Gauge, 1:76, 4mm/Foot
This is a replacement for the original bogies, fitted to the Lima Siphon G, which were based on the British Railways Mk 1 coach bogie and therefore incorrect.
This bogie represents the Great Western Collett 7' type which were fitted to the GWR inside framed Siphon G built to Diagram O33. Unlike the original bogies, these are fitted with NEM coupling pockets to allow customers a wide choice of couplings.*
This print has been designed to use HORNBY R8098 12.5 mm disc wheels to prevent the flanges rubbing on the underside of the wagon body.
On some prints I have found that the NEM socket is a very tight fit so I would recommend that they are cleaned out with a fine sharp object (pin) to ensure there is no dust from the manufacturing process. In addition, you may need to flex the sides a little when fitting the wheels to ensure smooth running.
* This product was designed for use with the Hornby R8268 and R8276, large and medium width couplings and will also work with the R8219 Hornby NEM coupling. However it will not work with the R8220 Hornby NEM pocket close coupling. This bogie has not been tested using Kadee or any other type of coupling.
