Great Eastern Railway E22 (LNER J65) class

This kit is for the GER E22 class later known by the LNER as J65, commonly nicknamed 'Blackwall tanks' as they were commonly found on the former London and Blackwall Railway services out of Fenchurch Street before that line closed to passenger traffic in the 1926. This kit requires a set of 16mm driving wheels, plus gears, gearbox and motor to complete I tend towards using the gearboxes and motors provided by High Level Models available thruogh their website. It will also require the appropriate coupling rods, these can be made up from scrap brass, or purchased separately from the shapeways shop either printed in brss or stainless steel. There are two types of coupling rod available, either full length for an 0.6.0 wheel arrangement, or the cut down version for the period when these little engines were effectively reduced to a 2.4.0. We recommend using a photograph of a particular prototype before deciding which version to go for.
