CTA/CRT Wood Rapid Transit Car 1754

This is an HO Scale (1/87) model of CTA/CRT wood rapid transit car 1754. This model is based off of Chicago Rapid Transit Co. car 1754 preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum which belongs to the Jewett-built cars in the 1735-1768 series for the Northwestern Elevated Railroad. This car was built in 1903 and served in regular service until 1957 when the last wooden cars were pulled from all revenue service. This car then served in work train service until 1971 when it was then sold to IRM. This car is unique in that it features two different styles of sliding doors on the ends of the car.
