Product Description
A day of testing at Aperture Science can get quite intense and take it out of you. Between the testing of the handheld portal device, the various gels and everyone complaining about cake; at the end of the day you just want to have a tea to unwind and relax.
To rest your beverage on, consider using the "1500 Megawatt Super-Colliding Super Button coaster" ..... or "Portal button coaster" for short.
****
The pictures attached of the coaster printed in full colour sandstone (FCS) so you shouldn't need to paint anything. You can use the coaster as-is, or do some finishing as I have in some of the later imaged for an even nicer finish (I strongly recommend if you do want to smooth out the part and use a clear coat, make sure you test any clear coat products somewhere discreet such as the underside or on another FCS print, to ensure it does not react odd with the materials being used).
I recommend giving the bottom of the coaster a light sand regardless (the parts that make contact with the table) as FCS can have a rough finish and this avoid scratching your table when using the coaster.
This is a re-upload of the model since the introduction of the Valve partnership program with Shapeways, and I have been using one of these as my daily coffee coaster at work for the last 3 years :)
