Product Description
The North American Aviation T-6 Texan is an American single-engined advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force, and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1970s. Designed by North American Aviation, the T-6 is known by a variety of designations depending on the model and operating air force. As I am active-duty Navy, I designed this as the SNJ designation which is where I sourced most of my reference material.
This 1:72 scale model is based on photos I took of the titular aircraft during a fly-in at my university. Previously I've finished a TBM Avenger, but wasn't satisfied with the appearance. It was one of my earlier works, but the result prompted me to try again at a different model with similar characteristics. Time has passed, and the experience I've built since shows in this model, which features my custom-designed radial engine built for each of these scale models and modified for the particular aircraft. Enjoy!
