Product Description
This is an N gauge model of the water tender of Stockton & Darlington Railway locomotive ‘Derwent’. Built in 1845 to the ‘Tory’ class design of Timothy Hackworth, it operated commercially until 1898, last steaming as a preserved engine in 1925. Today it is displayed at the Darlington Railway Centre and Museum.
Combined with the N Gauge ‘Derwent’ locomotive and coal tender (the engine having two, one each for coal and water), this scratch aid enables an unpowered free-rolling model engine. Coupled to a motorised coach or truck (each separately available, plus free-rolling coaches and trucks), a fully working 'Era 1' N Gauge train can be created.
Necessary to Complete:
Graham Farish wagon wheels (x2)
Couplings (the method used is at the builder's discretion)
Weight
Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Brake handle
I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
