Product Description
A custom hobo fishing reel/rod that I designed for bushcraft & bakcwoods camping, where portability is a major concern. Not sure how much line it can hold, but I put roughly around 200 yd of 10lb fishing line on there as seen in the photos. Handle is hollow, for you to store tackle (comes with cap to seal it).
Ridge of reel bottom has square holes with ridges for hooking your fishing hook into to keep the line taut for storage.
I've tried to make the cap as well-fitting as I could, but with shapeways printers I have no idea how the fit will be. If the cap is too loose fitting, use tape to thicken it up until it fits properly (also a good idea as the cap wears down from repeated friction from use). If it's too tight, you'll have to sand it down until it fits.
Order in basic plastic for the most efficient option (high durability, lightweight); get in metal if you want the absolute tankiest durability you can get (plus, being made of metal, you can use it as an improvised weapon in emergencies).
Reel portion is hollow; you could affix it to a branch post or something and leave it unattended if needed.
